Can Overuse of Antibiotics Cause Resistant Yeast Infections ?

by Luke Lister

We have a lot to thank for the discovery of antibiotics, but are we misusing this gift with constant reckless use. Are we letting the yeasts and bacteria become resistant and stronger with time.

On top of this problem of yeast and bacteria getting stronger, you have the problem that antibiotics weaken the body by killing off your good or helper bacteria. It is this bacteria that is your natural defence against infection and disease. This constant suppression of your immune system, and strengthening of the bad bacteria causes long term problems, and gets worse with time.

We may benefit short term by destroying the current problem, but is it right to sacrifice the future for this short term gain.

Candida is so common and widespread throughout the body that using antibiotics may stop an infection and seriously weaken the yeast, but cannot completely remove it. Since all the yeast does not die, what is left starts to develop a resistance to the antibiotics, and with a low count of helper bacteria to stop the Candida, the yeast is allowed to spread and strengthen until it changes into a fungal state that creates hooks to latch into our intestines and begin causing cramps and digestive problems.

When it latches into the intestinal wall it can simple spor into your blood stream and get passed around your body, and end up wherever it wants. Since it can now affect and infect all organs of your body you may notice a vast variety of symptoms, such as a skin problems, gas, bloating, sensitivity to smoke, perfume or petrol, as well an increase in other health problems or allergies.

Once the yeast begins to infect various parts of your body, your immune system will not be able to cope, and you could see a manifestation of new diseases such as cancer or even new allergies you never had before.

In today’s society we cannot and should not completely avoid antibiotics since they are needed to fight serious infection. However you can do your best to help the situation by replacing your helper bacteria straight away, you can use pro-biotics or live cultures to re strengthen your immune system.

A lot of people believe they have managed to avoid overuse of antibiotics but are unaware the simple process of buying and ingesting meat could be contributing to the problem. Meat is injected with antibiotics to kill off any underlying problems, and while it is far from dangerous it does contribute to lowering your immune system over time.

Going organic is a great choice, to avoid antibiotics in foods, but sooner or later we may need them for health reasons, so stay aware that they are not some magic product we can take for instant relief of any problem.

Sometimes all we need is to understand the problem a little better to avoid antibiotics from causing serious problems down the track.
